Mary has an internationally and extremely diverse background in the horse industry. She began "taking in" outside horses to ride at the early age of 9. By the age of 13 she had begun showing Paint Horses and by the time she reached the 14-18 category was winning consistently at local, state and national levels.

Some of her accomplishments include:

  • Texas State Paint Horse championships in Youth and Open Hunter Under Saddle, Youth Equitation, Youth and Open Hunter Hack, Youth and Open Western Pleasure, Youth Horsemanship, Youth and Open Trail, and Youth and Open Western Riding and Reining.

  • She was ranked 11th in the nation in the 14-18 category. This was all done on a horse that she trained herself who also went 3rd in the open Hunter Under Saddle at the very first Paint World Show.

She accepted the position in Minnesota at Dream Catcher Paint Horses as their trainer, breeding manager and barn manager. Together she and her husband worked through KLM airlines to transport horses overseas from Dream Catcher Paints. They lived overseas for several months to facilitate the coordination of a breeding and training program. Upon returning to the United States Mary worked with a reining horse trainer for a period after which she and Barry decided it was time to settle down on their own place in Texas

In 1999 Barry and Mary took over the running of a large horseback riding program for a summer camp over-seeing the teaching of up to 900 children each summer while keeping a small string of Paint, Pinto and Quarter Horses going to the shows and winning.

In March of 2005, Barry and Mary purchased their own facility in San Marcos, Texas which serves as headquarters for their current operation.

Mary is also a certified riding instructor with The American Association For Horsemanship Safety. In addition, she is a clinician for this organization and serves as Vice-president on the Board of Directors. Mary does several Horsemanship Safety clinics in the spring and throughout the year in other locations and at their new facility in San Marcos .

Mary has just completed the APHA judges academy and is beginning the process of obtaining judges cards with several associations.

They have had numerous youth high point exhibitors at Paint and Pinto shows through the years.
